Mission Implausible
I shouldn’t have left it, I should have stood guard Just keep it in sight, was that really so hard? If only I’d swallowed it, kept it in hand So it couldn’t be seized by the scum of our land I’ve got to get back there but there’s such a crowd I need to push through and this I have vowed What was I thinking, it’s there in plain sight And if it’s been seized, then I’m ready to fight I’m trying to nudge through this unruly throng But nobody yields, this is taking too long But I won’t fall foul of obstructions like these So now I crawl through on my hands and my knees I cannot believe that I could be so slack And I rue the moment that I turned my back I’m finally through and I struggle to stand But soon I should have it right here in my hand I pray that events will not soon prove me wrong I hope it was not unattended too long At last I exhale, thank God, there you are I’ll never again leave my beer on the bar
