But the elements that combine to make us human are only half the story… the most important half by far… consists of what experiences in life make us who we are. To me the answer is quite simple… like what we’re made of…it’s elementary… what makes us truly human… are our shared memories. Memories we accumulate from the moment we are born… memories that make us smile…memories that make us blue… it’s these memories that take each human from a what… and turn us unto a who. I have no facts to back this up… and certainly my data is incomplete… it’s just something I’ve observe every time my friends and family meet. Because when my friends and family come together… as all friends and family…I assume… there are always two words when spoken…that can light up any room. Two words that always makes us smile Two words spoken over and over again… Two words that stir our memories and fill our hearts… Two words…remember when. The stories that follow ‘remember when’ are often funny, sometimes sad and every now and then bizarre… but these are the stories that define us… that make us who we are. So if you want to discover what you’re made of… you can look it up in any anatomy book… then again… if you want to find out who you are… get some friends or family together and say two words… ‘remember when’.
