Contemplation
I'm feeling quite pensive as I sit Resting my back on this tree Is there really a meaning to life? Is there really a purpose for me? Why am I here is the question I ask What am I put here to do? That is the question that really haunts me It probably haunts you too I once read a book called The Meaning of Life But I found it misleading you see The thing that I read and the things that it said Didn't make any sense to me It said maybe take up gardening Which didn't help me at all Cos I don't have garden I live in a flat And my houseplants have died one and all It suggested becoming a poet But poetry isn't for me If you saw any poem I'd written I'm pretty sure you would agree All of these thoughts are confusing my mind As they run around in my head I think I'll take action tomorrow But for now I'm off home to bed
