Another Way
AN ANOTHER WAY I was a young girl, and I didn't know who to trust. A person that was supposed to love me, Violated me in the worst way. I looked at mom’s husband as a father. You see, I never knew my dad and he was the only male figure in my life. My world came crashing down two years ago when I woke up in the middle of the night with him wedged between my thighs.Fast forward, I'm pregnant, and I’m sitting in an abortion clinic. I can't have this monster's baby. I tried to bond with the baby growing inside because it was a part of me. All I felt was pain and disgust, to be honest there was no connection at all. I felt like I was carrying an alien. People judge, and I get it, I never wanted to take a life. While I was deep in my thoughts, a lady gave me a pamphlet about adoption. My child is alive today because a kind lady showed me another way. I didn't have it in me to raise my child because I wasn't that strong. But she is now being raised by a good family that couldn't have their own biological child. Please don't judge me, show me a better way, until you walk a mile……………….... *This is a fictional write inspired by me reading David Kavanagh’s poem “ Parental Advisory Originally Posted: Alexis Y. 08/02/2021
