You Must Submit
I choose to blame it on something or somebody. In cases like this, it's something, but it's also me. Years ago, when I was younger, I would often hear 'Small talks' of a particular behavior or phenomenon. Let me explain in a way that some 'Soupers' will understand. On the other hand, maybe this behavior is unique to me. Or perhaps it's something many elders rather not talk about. Anyway, life is a journey, and not all of it is pretty and smooth. It was only yesterday that I checked the contest status of a poem I submitted; or I assumed I submitted that poem. As it turned out, I wrote a poem specifically for the contest, but never really entered the contest. As per requirement, I even indicated contest information at the bottom of the poem. Mind you, I must confess; this is not the first time. Time and time again, it keeps happening. Surely, there is an unwritten rule that I am violating. It says, "You must commit in order to win; but you also must submit". Nevertheless, I value and cherish the challenge and never bow to frustration nor consider my action an exercise in futility. Call it what you like, but I think I'm having Senior moments. 040522PS
