As I live in this dark abyss, where fear reigns And heart and soul swim oceans of grievous pains Will I, this mountain of heartbreaking gloom defeat As this black-world sends each morn's darkness to greet I as a poet know, God's light can gift relief In a blink, break chains, restoring faithful belief What can a heart do, when weeping sorrows invade sleep One finds their fervent wish is her to hold and keep?
