The War Saga
Shedding blood is not a scathe, Saving people is not a salvage, Ruining kingdom is not an outrage, War, as they say – is fine to indulge, Putting lives to mortgage. I have seen war – fear in her eyes – Clinching onto life to survive, And he is dauntlessly plunging to die; She – the commoner, And he – the soldier Bound together By strings of a common entity, called war. Who would save them all? A messiah, a patriarch Or a gallant vandal! A pioneer, a pathfinder, Or a brave heart leader Who would hinder, The rampant ravage and rancour? Who would emerge from the oblivion, To set ablaze the ordnance? A war would begin, - Billions and trillions of people to entwine A war would thrive – And people would strive, To survive A war would end, With irreparable losses, Hard to amend – To vanquish foes, you’d lose more friends, To bring cheer, You’d shed more tears To save lives, You’d compel many more to die – And that’s how a war would leave you, With many hues and cry, Sparing not a moment to repent; You would try, To breath a careless sigh – But memories would never faint; And the war – heroes would be gone, To scaffold you, In a safe sojourn – Never to be born again.
