When You Are Old and Grey..
When you are old and grey And full of sleep Recouperating on you mind Somewhere an equally old grey lady Will be looking at you Waiting for more moments to find Who has witnessed your face From youthful mischief To growing glow From young daddy To grandfather and great I've watched this face and loved it so I've seen its anger I've seen it accomodate life In disbelief and despair I've seen it smile at beauty When no one else could see I've seen it caught so unaware I've seen you cry Unfurl in my arms Not knowing where to go I've loved this face of yours Its tribulations Heartaches and woe Each wrinkle I know the cause Each scar I know how it hurt Each tear I know why it fell Now we are old and grey And both so full of sleep What happens now? Who can tell?
