After all, it’s just music. I’ve heard it’s an experience. Unforgettable, at that. And that it’s taken people places While they just sat. But it’s just music. I feel this way about a great many things. Whatever people love when a change it brings. It’s all just music. But then I stood on a new shore And found bliss like never before. Infinite beauty is all I can perceive, Overwhelmingly hard to believe. And I can hear it. Notes, struck delicately, A song. My song, my life. The melody rises from My Ocean Harmonies play down from this sheltering sky. And I feel in my heart of hearts What I haven’t seen with my eyes. Everything’s the same, but all things are new. Apples are sweeter, My Waters the truest blue. I’m still at my desk, this scribbling my only motion, But I’ve traveled so far listening to the ballad of My Ocean. It brings me peace, and I am content. This in my life, as it was meant. I’m floating in the current, sinking into the song. Uncertain how I survived without it this long. This sounds ridiculous, And it’s hard to explain. But to describe it Only one phrase remains. She’s just...my music.
