The Path To Heaven
The path to heaven was prettier than Marie imagined. Vibrant colors on the trees took her mind off her journey. She was instantly soothed by the twinkling leaves. They seemed to be uplifting her energy as she moved. The path to heaven was filled with beautiful tinkling sounds. Were they the birds or was there a brook around the bend? Marie had never felt as beloved as she walked this path. Who would meet her? She thought of her grandmother of course. The path to heaven smelled of lilacs, tulips, and roses. It was strange to smell these floral at the same time. On earth they appear in different months, but not here. Marie kept walking, knowing things were going to be better now. The chemo for cancer had taken her hair, but here it was. Flowing like it had been before, she was sure it was beautiful. There was no more pain, her arms and legs did not hurt anymore. She began to run, loving this feeling of being whole again.
