The Neighborhood Kid
His eyes glitter with dreams and hopes of a day that may be of some ways to go the two kids under the makeshift tent planning the next adventure, the next journey it was just a blanket covering the table yet it was definitely much more their own imaginary world that they created only for them the dream destinations, the foods they crave the sleepovers with movie nights in the small dark room lit with candles the bets they've made and sworn as oaths the inside jokes they already have yet they just met yesterday crazy how close one can get with the neighborhood kid someone who you thought you knew your whole life you know, just the friendly, smart neighborhood kid but ended up being so much more than that which you found out one summer ago, when you were back home with the folks the things the kids wants to see and experience together like imagining the next time you get to go to the candy shop debating whether to get the regular chocolate bar or the new crazy flavored candy that pops in your mouth it still feels that way the innocence and glee in his eyes the genuine laughter in his smile the neighborhood kid nothing seems to change with him around like the sunset never stops being beautiful how it never becomes boring to gaze at as beautiful as it was at the age of 6 as it is at the age of 18 never growing old that’s the neighborhood kid
