A Prayer God Did Not Answer My Way
A PRAYER GOD DID NOT ANSWER MY WAY We’re told that God will answer each time we kneel to pray, And yet that very answer will not always go our way. So once I prayed and fasted about a dire need, And wanted God’s clear answer in the way that I did plead. But God chose not to answer with YES that crucial time, And it was hard to realize that answer I did find. He chose a different answer and by it He would say, “My grace will be sufficient for you, My child, today.” ‘Tis hard to take that answer and deal with it so well, And yet I know He loves me, and saved my soul from hell. The days or years I face now are such a short, short time, And when I get to heaven, no longer will I find The cares of life and problems, the struggles I endure, They will be gone forever, of that I’m very sure! A prayer God did not answer my way for life below Is still God’s greater answer; He makes no mistakes I know. Lord, Your thoughts are not mine now, help me on You to rest: The answer that You gave me was only for my best To lean on You more strongly, not bitter and complain, But trust You for Your strength now, in Jesus’ precious name. --Written in early days of adjusting to new health regimen.
