She's a Savage Killer
She’s a Savage Killer She slides between unformed Dark stealthy Yellow blaze eyes Implacable as they read Deaths demise By strangled throats In needle merciless teeth Blood is drawn Cold in her domain Demanding respect She is the savage killer Perfect Only a slow guttural prowl For the scent of fear Slips silently On razor claws As she slinks and sniffs Again The succulent scent Night and shadows Her allies Deadly camouflage intent And again The hunger And the succulent scent Of blood Hunter of the wary and the weak As black as the pride Of any coals pit A crouching Playful Face of death She purrs Content Soft as unseen Sprints and batters The boarder flowers While licking her lips For the taste of blood The feline killing machine Pounces ( And as I open my garden gate Sophie my dark and black and midnight cat. Leaves her prey to sidle slinky up to me wrapping and purring round my ankles. I reach down, lift her up, cuddle and tickle behind her ears as they twitch, listening, to the half dead mouse intent on escaping )
