Truth
What terrifies me the most? What do we have time for? Perhaps a prost… To all the things beautiful and decomposed The truth Yes, it is the truth, I suppose What if I know? How the knowing horrifies me so Knowing all the things that knowing shows Mostly devastation because the truth is rarely a rose What if I see? Awaken to all the images that have haunted me Gun fire in a city that never speaks Living out sin for the secrets we keep A virus to wipe out all of humanity A friend I see slipping into an endless sleep The people, Are they people? That reach out and weep… For a final word, a last goodbye Regrets leaving imprints In my mind’s third eye What if… I stop begging to be loved? Would you abandon me? What if I accept that I really don’t matter and I leave? I am tired of being invisible I want to be seen Would it even matter? Would you notice at all? Would you catch me, before I fall? To all the what if’s and the questions I have posed Yes, it is the truth that frightens me the most.
