It Touches My Heart -II
When I live as if God holds the lever, My life seems to lose her flavour, An as if things are set in my favour, Ah fearless I live as if for ever. Oh ere, I lived a miserable life, Thence to my strength free from all strife, Both demanded work from me rife, The later touched my heart. Till I knew to put in my best, Good was good enough for the crest, I bettered thence what was my best, It touched my heart in haste. We live when in a world of make-believe That makes us other than ‘us’ live, As our own self still when we live, It sure pleases our heart. Happiness, not a stem, a root, Neither what nor who I’m its fruit, Yet, how haply the head plays a fond lute Touches the core of heart… ___________________________________________ Quatrains |19.08.2021|
