Often When I Must Take a Sad Look Back
Often When I Must Take A Sad Look Back Look back remembering how hard I wept Seeing decay of where we both once slept You were beauty and hand full of treasure Then our new-sprung love grew beyond measure. Now even sad memories are of gold Back then I was vibrant, steady and bold You full of grace and a true beauty queen How I long to again live in that scene! Very often, I wonder where you are at Are you wearing tight jeans and floppy hat Or a mini-skirt and those mile high heels Love lost, do you truly know how that feels? Look back remembering how hard I wept. Seeing emptiness where we both once slept. Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet- ( When Hard Reality Hits A Very Sad Road ) Note: Truth in Life: some things burn an unforgettable imprint upon spirit, heart, mind and soul. Of those - lost love ranks as the top calamity, yet it is one of the very greatest life learners out there. Surviving it sears a strength that penetrates into the marrows and strengthens the soul. Although may would rather be weak- and still have that love. For something that sweet and powerful is indeed an epic loss.. For what is a poet that does not give truly from heart and soul?
