Calling For Backup
A short video that I watched this morning said it all. It said that when we feel or think we are all alone, we are not. No, the video did not say those words, but still I heard them. It said that we are often pushed in a corner and alone, but we are not. Cornered? Yes. Alone? No. No, those words were not on the screen, but the picture was clearly seen, speaking volumes. It was an everyday picture-perfect scene, right out of the wild life kingdom. nevertheless, it vividly spoke to the everyday realities of our human 'not so wild life kingdom'. The video title was, 'A lion is cornered by hyenas'; and it caught my attention immediately. There were 4 or 5 hyenas closing in on a single lion. Cornered against a brush, it appeared that he was hopeless. With no where to run, nowhere to hide, the lion twisted and turned, fending off his enemies as best he could. But it looked really grime, and I was fearing the worst. The hyenas didn't realize it, and I doubt the lion knew it as well, but 'backup was on the way'. The hyenas were certain their feast was in the bag. That was until they spotted two other lions in a trot coming to the scene; whereupon they were easily forced away, and the cornered lion got to live another day. Christian or not, in our lives, we often face myriads of adversities. Life will come at us like a pack of hyenas. As believers in Christ, we don't always have a 'plan B' or a 'back up plan' that we are aware of; but we should constantly reassure ourselves that God has our back and is always somewhere in the mix with His plan for our lives. 072521PS
