Football Distraction
Magically, the usually late Is in front of their school’s gate Ready to a gentle push give it Or open fling it. Now, he is commendably trim, The hand of the lord strongly upon him, Miraculously, he tries strides with his blistered pair, For many weeks the torment of football games not fair. Soon, he does a linear to their classroom block, Where he must a shoddily done homework rework And with that elude his short-listing For the cleaning and whitening Of their schools toilet/bowl Always looking worse than a dying- minute conceded goal. But lo! In their classroom stared back at him a shape That did make his pursed lips gape. Jesus ! A sadly lost and now found football Of near FIFA quality and leather... When last fortune had smiled on him he couldn’t recall Nor when last he did fondle a cap with a stuck feather. This, though, now not much of the matter, As his recuperating feet are about to face the real matter. In the end, a homework to be speedily reworked Does with a bit of waiting to be once again worked And its correctness checked For solutions that may ‘ve been faked.
