Lost...
Lost I lost you, but in your absence I have grown. It was not today but years ago that you departed. Where did you go? Why? Coming back is useless, I have outgrown myself. Who am I now? Left standing, watching from an outsiders view What did I do to make you run? Did I not grow as you instructed? Yet became resented through those I loved. If asked to return, surely I would. In a minute! For a minute! Then I would depart. For I fail to understand what in life you taught me. I live for those I love. What did you live for? We all love you. We all have always loved you. Regardless of your faults, Our faults, The wrongs that could easily have been righted, Yet refused… Until the end, but it is too late, because of death I feel slighted, But maybe that is because I have not grown as you instructed, Maybe I have not grown, Maybe it is I, who departed, I who resented you, Left you standing watching from an outsides view. I am sorry, NOW, Would have been back then, (if only I had known) Small hands fail to grasp the enormity of the issue at hand, Yet tears stream for the loss of the only thing I know. I remember my tears, Still they fall, Except the absence is different… Where is the completion? Where is the Love? Is it in a box of glass statuettes? Maybe it is in a box of medals, pulled from a drawer, Hidden Seems a shame that it will all end in a box, On a mantle Hidden, lost, but never Unloved….
