Bridges Lead Us Somewhere
In my hometown as a wee child. It felt like I had walked several a mile. To a place where I always had fun. Where my passion for hockey had begun. Every Friday night we would sit and cheer. Hockey was playing, my hopes for a win were clear. The Bridge I took to see the game. Is still there in the town and not quite the same. I would walk across with boards that would creek. Terrified at times I would fall and be weak. Every Saturday my Aunt and I. Across the Bridge to skate and eat a fry. Holding onto my hand we had so much fun. The Bridge to me is where it had begun. To places to eat. Or friends to meet. Most of all time together just her and me. How I wish I could travel the Bridge, wishing it was like it used to be.
