Bird Songs
They were like sweet melodies on special assignment from heaven. Perhaps they were Nightingales greeting both me and the dawn. Oh, how I miss those singing birds where we used to live. We made our move to our present abode nine years ago and downsized into a single story house. I like birds, but I'm glad the pigeons didn't follow us. We are gratified that the rats and mice that greeted us upon arrival to our new place have been driven away by kind and neighborly cats. We have no shortest of friendly squirrels, but we haven't seen lizards in quite some time. I don't know why nor where they went, but I'm not complaining. Perhaps my neighbor's cat drove them away and demanded that they need never come back. I tell you, I have found a friend in cats. Anyway, I do not miss those lizards at all, but I do miss the sound of birds. Again I say, I don't miss the pigeons that never sang to me, but only created dirt and dung. I don't suppose they really knew the meanings of a song. It's not that there are no birds around our present abode, but currently, the birds that visit our property don't sing a lot. At our prior dwelling, we were well entertained by chirping birds that sang to us both night and day. Oh, how I miss those soothing sounds, helping to take our burdens away. 061421cjFBPS
