For the Ultimate Sacrifice, Thank You
From the Mayflower, they fought the high seas of the Atlantic. They were not dressed in uniform, but they were gallant warriors. From the North Eastern shores of the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico, "No taxation without representation"; "Give me liberty or give me death". Such was the heart cry of a people harassed and abused by an unjust king. They could have submitted and lived; they chose to die for the right to be free. As one military officer said, "They gave up their tomorrows that we may have today". A new nation was born with the price of blood; thousands died as they 'visualized all of us'. From the hills, valleys, and grassy fields in a brutal civil war, they also fought against each other. Even in their self-destructive spirit, they believed that 'this nation shall not perish from the earth'. It is for those, from The Mayflower to Gettysburg that we solemnly pause, honor and memorialize. It is for those who fought and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and our tomorrows. With deep respect, on this Memorial Day, we also honor those who died in World Wars 1 and 2, Korea, Vietnam, the wars, battles, and conflicts of the Middle East. And to their families, Thank you. 053021PSCtest, All Yours (June 1), Brian Strand
