See What Sun Bathing Gets You
As the sun baked the bathers No one thought to observe the sea For out in the distance came A monster from beneath. With stealth, developed for water It approached the waiting shore. Before the bathers knew it They were, just no more. The monster had escaped the ocean Now, it had no bounds. It was enticed by all the differences As it heard all the new sounds. It wandered from the beach now With intentions, just to eat The monster had no feelings As it walked now on its feet. It went on chasing people To catch them and consume The people ran in horror As they faced impending doom. The monster, now, it tired; Bored with its new sport It turned and changed direction And went back then to the port. For there among the boats Were people, more, to eat. But the monster kept on going, He now had tired feet. For never really walking The monster tired fast He went back in the water Where the pain then wouldn’t last. He wadded in the water In shallow depths near shore The beach dwellers had smartened, though, And baked themselves no more.
