The Day's Adventures
My daughter asked me what I did today... I told her that I built a violin I carved the wood and polished it I strung the strings with resin hands 'till the notes flowed like the human voice. I invented a new jelly bean one that pops in your mouth when chewed white stripes thin around blue berry blue liquid cream center in white I told her that I took a straw and extended it into the clouds to sip some steam from the silver wings of liquid frost and winter stings I then grew cold and found the pool which reflected the golden sun I took a dip and warmed my skin 'till my fingers, red unthawed She took this all in, her hand in mine as her face crinkled back her smile She then looked up with her grandmother's eyes and said I should rest for a while...
