Childhood's Time Lapse
I recall looking sweetly, out of my crib, do you?   I must have been near the age of two.     The living room lights were on and glowing.   And Chicago snowflakes, out my window were   lovely and flowing.    I held my Nancy doll near my pullsating heart.   From her, I never ever wanted to part!    Now, a grandmother, my self, no longer a girl.   Where have my golden locks gone, those tiny   pretty curls?    What about my Koala bear from Australia?   So lovable~ a toy, that never failed you.    My blanket was a thick, quilted satin.   My pillow had embroidered cats upon it.    The decades have past, but memory lives on.   And an irresistible time lapse, gives me a smile with it, each grinning dawn!                           5/18/2021                             ~2~
