An Answered Prayer For Help
An Answered Prayer For Help I was driving home one night, after my class, going south. I saw this car going so fast from the other direction and I already had an inkling that he would hit me head on and probably other vehicles, resulting in an utter chaos. I was petrified and had to think fast; but I had nowhere to go for I could not change lane safely to my right, as there was a car there and did not want to continue forward for I had an intuition he would hit me badly. I made a sigh for being trapped and not knowing what to do. I could only murmur to myself in panic asking what I can do. I put my brakes on, covered my face with my hands, prayed in a whisper “Lord help me”, put my face on my lap. I heard a loud bang and my car shook, I heard another bang, another and another and people screaming. Then I realized, I was safe in my car and I could hardly gasp in shock seeing the left side front of my car smashed. Seeing crashed vehicles in two other lanes on my right and two others in the gasoline station and group of people trying to comprehend what had happened. I was baffled to breathe a sigh of relief and thanked the Lord. I drove my car to the gasoline station and got out. People asked how I was doing and told me how lucky I was and I could not say a word for I still could not believe how fortunate and blessed I was. 4/27/21 Writing Prompt - Breathe - Poetry Constance La France Checked: PS Grammar Checker
