All Hallows Eve
October brings shivers to folks in Three Rivers When fields of green turn to brown And the people excited are more than delighted By leaves that come tumbling down Well a charmer named Fred was the farmer who said That a pumpkin is ripe to be carved And the bumpkin was right by the bugs in the light Of a porch with a kid who is starved For the sweet that is picked is the one that is licked By the ghost with the most appetite And the kid may be tricked by the street that is slicked By the very first snow of the night For the sugar you share is the sign that you care When you wait for the witch in your sight And the nag with a bag is a very small hag With a new snaggletooth and a bite Now the trip that you take is a pleasure to make For the sake of the old and the young And the path you complete is the one on your street Where the monsters are happily hung When the moment is done for the kids and their fun All you have is a big pumpkin fruit And the battle is won by the daughter and son Who are eating the rest of your loot.
