Hey Enthusiasm Said
Sadness enveloped him in a loving way Keeping him from doing the things he yearned to do Depression entered the room and gave him a smack Stop it! Sadness screamed. He is mine. Not yours. We can share him, Depression stated. Sadness backed down, for she had a fear of him. He was known to bite hard. Hey! Enthusiasm said. Let’s get out of this room. Let’s take a walk. Let’s ride a bike. Let’s stop hiding. Sadness and Depression began to chase her. They tried to corner her, but she leaped around joyfully. Flew into corners, kept urging him on. You are not alone! She sang. Her voice was melodic. The further Sadness and Depression got from him, The more willing he was to look up. He tried not to smile at Enthusiasm, but he had to. He was grinning, wondering about the possibilities now. He decided to take a walk, and ride his bike. No longer alone and despondent. Rather alive. And eager.
