Jennifer
On a cool and breezy April eve, I lay down and welcomed sleep, With no intention al all to dream. But somewhere in a lofty keep, Where it seems dreams never sleep, One had intentions for me… I drifted off in Sandman Sound, A magical place where dreams are born, To ‘neath a tree on dreaming ground, Brought by my heart to this wondrous shore, And here is where my love was found. A sweet and beautiful lady fair, My one wish for so long a while, Soft brown eyes and short dark hair, A pixie with and enchanting smile, The answer to my nightly prayer. Upon the instant my eyes met hers, She smiled and spoke so softly, She said, “My name is Jennifer, And someday soon you’ll meet me”. I knew that she was my future. An instant later she was gone, But her lovely vision stayed with me. I knew that it would not be long, Before our love would someday be. I shall join the dance when that day dawns. She will complete and fulfill my life, And make this half a person whole. She’ll be my friend, my love, my wife, The eternal mate of my soul, Who’ll shine on y darkness with her light. On a cold and windy day in December, ‘Neath a half-finished Christmas tree, The April dream that I remembered, Became a joyous reality, I met my angel, ”Jennifer”! The best Christmas gift I could ever receive! “We shall dance together, In love’s light forever.”
