The Clown
I'm a clown. I'm here to make people happy. I have to be happy. After all, what's a clown without his smile? A lot of people don't like me. It's understandable. They say I'm scary. They say I'm frightening. They don't even try to be nice to me. If I was dying, if I were there, nobody would come save me at my deathbed. Nobody's around to help. One time, I fell off a rock into the lake. I can't swim. Between gasps of air, I screamed for help. But nobody came. It looked like I was luring people into the water, they say. Like a clown in the sewer. You'll float too. I just want them to be happy. I just want the world to laugh with me. Not at my pain But at my success. Sometimes, I don't feel very happy. Like the rain soaked through my skin and into my head. Like I'm covered in a mild shiver that just won't go away. But I have to be happy. After all What's a clown without his smile? (This poem... is about Animal Crossing. As in, the game that kept everyone sane during quarantine. Don't try to look for a deeper meaning, it's literally about Pietro from Animal Crossing.)
