Lost Little Sheep
I didn't know where else to go for some help for me, This chapel has always been a refuge, so quiet and empty. I came because I am struggling inside, and I want my vistas to be open and wide. I'm only a frightened young girl as you already know, I want to be strong and courageous, in the life that I sow. My parents are not together; my life was theirs to mold, They said they would always be with me, or so I was told. Dad found a new job and a new wife, So he has not kept his faith with me in my little life. Mom was going to stay with me too, Her promise was broken, when she found love anew. Maybe I'm just feeling sorry for myself you see, But I need some guidance to be the person I want to be. The ones I expected to love me o'er all the most, Have deserted me for their own lives; now I am lost. So I came to you here without so much as a robe worn, to beg for your help, to unburden my soul, as my heart has been torn. I'll sit here and wait in meditation Lord, praying to hear just one little peep, For I know you will find me, as I am your lost little sheep. 12/17/20 written for: A Rhyme Story-Poem With Eyes on Poetry Contest Sponsor: Mystic Rose
