After the Hurricane
Like a pale silhouette I trudge through the wreckage life slips from my hands like a handful of water leaking through the fingers Its not my shelter that was destroyed nor the precious collections but dreams of future and memories of a lifetime Is there any hope left? question I, from the empty surrounding but get no answers, except, the echo from neighborhoods with a heavy heart, I look at my garden, and find a half bent tree “Oh! how brutally the hurricane have treated you too?” And yet, I don’t see you weeping I don’t see you cursing I don’t see you suffering What sort of loving kindness it has towards the brutality which battered it? After all I only see the sheer desire to rise back before spring , to bloom lovely flowers to bare tasty fruits, above all to live again! And, here leaves the thick black fog Covered my heart all the while A ray of hope shimmers like sunshine in me To rise -to live and live!
