Goblins In the Oaks
I was going to a haunted house, a ghoulish affair Advertised in town with signs noting, "BEWARE." They were posted with this cautionary warning: "If you enter, there will be reasons for mourning. Zombies will haunt you; you'll shiver with fright. Vampires will be feasting this Halloween night!" I drove to the site, looking forward to each hoax but stopped when I saw goblins flying in the oaks. They looked so real, but I knew it was only trickery. I was ready to face the beasts, spooks and witchery. I ventured into the eerie house, a smile on my face until spiders fell on my head. This was a horrible place! I saw a headless creature, blood gushing everywhere. In the horror of the scene, I screamed words of swear! I've never been inclined to use expletives of profanity, but fear beseiged my senses near the point of insanity! Something wet touched my neck, and I was paralyzed. A freaky creature approached, as an alien, disguised. I kicked the diabolic fiend, hell-bent on my abduction, not scared enough to fall for a phony Martian seduction. It had been a maze of dark corridors, frightfully bizarre. All too realistic, I thought, as I walked back to my car. I didn't notice the cluster of spiders crawling behind me and laughed as the speakers faked the wails of a banshee. It was cleverly staged, and I was impressed by each hoax, until I was captured by those goblins flying in the oaks!!!
