The Awakening
As I am driving down this lonesome highway, the beauty overtakes the silence. It's then I finally began to see what my youth had never noticed. All this time I failed to enjoy the simplicity of the ever changing yet, continuous beauty which surrounds me. Although aware, I was too concerned with the trivial nonsense that thrives on immaturity. I now know and have a better understanding of what is truly important. So as I reach my destination, I am reluctant to stop and release the moment. Instead of complying to responsibility, I turn and continue with invigoration and a feeling of contentment. Now again, I am driving down this highway but, I am no longer lonely. I am humbled by the knowledge of whom, and what are really important to me. I am in the only company I will ever need and I am grateful for this, "awakening within." Written by, Sheri Lynne Evans January 24, 2005
