Addiction
Addiction beguiles a man. It wraps around the flow of concentration. It cuts off the blood of life for a moment of fixation. Opening old wounds and pouring salt in its grand design. Waking up to less than you were made for. One can speak of it and not understand it. One can see it and not realize it. Yet all know the power it can possess when it wishes for more. It grinds away and strips dignity and consciousness from its keeper. It creates a shell of nothingness. No bars to grab, to pull up on or to tie itself to. You struggle for a relationship with sanctification yet find nothing. When will it be enough? When will it be the end? Subtracting years from the future in an instant. Riding a dark highway of infestation. When will it be enough? When will it be the end?
