Polish Your Bomb
Polish Your Bomb Oh how mighty and special they are! Hail thee to our lovely bombs! Hark to the power of the bomb Our own bombs that we love and desire Situated in our homes to keep us safe Located in our factories to give security We love our bombs like nothing else More important than a parent, cousin, Sibling, wife, friend or pet We live our lives to worship our bombs Waiting for that special day On that day we will blow ourselves up! All together in a timed display of power Dying as one when we detonate our bombs Some people have unique bombs Those are more special than the rest Tho of course all have those attributes One man had a bomb for underwater demolition He would die while having a crap on his bog Another loved his dinner plane sized anti-tank mine His death would be driving his small car over it All the explosions were timed together Linked by atomic clocks which were all linked These would blow up the town centre But before the grand event there was a practice There were two switches on the bombs: Safe and Armed The practice would be carried out on Safe A signal would be sent from the nuclear clocks A yellow light would illuminate This meant get ready After thirty seconds it would go to red Red meant detonate and die The bomb owners would flick the Armed switch Then all be blown to bits when the bombs went up A follow up signal would be sent too Just to make sure all went as planned Of course that would only take place on the day This was a test to prepare everybody And it ran smoothly without a hitch Afterwards a carnival atmosphere descended People showed their neighbours their bombs, ‘Oh look at my lovely bomb, it’s a fragmentation.’ The bombs were polished and cared for Worshipped and shown ultimate unconditional love Time ticked down and the day and hour was here It was Bomb Detonation Day! Just like the practice but for real People wore their Sunday Best, got ready and smiled The clock reached twelve, signals were sent, switches flicked And everything soon went boom! Millions of individual explosions merged together From a pound of High Explosive to a megaton and more Everyone’s bombs went Kaboom! The blasts were spectacular like a living thing Houses, businesses, town halls and people disintegrated It happened everywhere in every country The world as we know it ceased to exist Humanity died because they worshipped their bombs Only debris and destruction remained The world was at peace
