Product of Greatness
So here I am standing face to face with myself Staring deeply though the windows of my inner man Wondering, who am I? And how did I get here? I know some how, some years ago My parents got together and conceived me But I'm searching deeper than that I'm looking at the people who've paved the way For my momma, my daddy and me People who've grind ed hard everyday Paying their debts to society With their blood, sweat, and tears I'm not talking about a temporary struggle Or something that went down for a little while I'm talking about a struggle that became a life style Kings and Queens who've been used for me Abused for me, who've watched their love ones Sold, and even killed for me WOW....          Reminiscing on the love we shared as brothers and sisters Hiding in bushes hoping the master's dog will miss us Praying to the Lord to please set us free From all of this pain and misery Still face to face with myself I'm reminded of the mystery That history is afraid to unfold I'm a part of the realest story never told Creeping though the underground rail road with mother Harriett Which was a heavy cross, but someone had to carry it I'm tired as hell like Rosa Parks Standing strong like Dr. King when I heard dogs bark Because I very well understand that.... I was born into a world where thing are very scary Fighting to survive like Bro. Malcolm. By any means necessary We've overcome the pressures of our past FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST! THANK GOD ALMIGHTY WE ARE FREE AT LAST! Now, knowing where I've come from sometime makes me pissed But if you're still wondering who I am I'll tell you that I am the product of Greatness
