I sit in front of this typewriter, inside these walls and remember all those times this has happened before. all the years the paranoid said they were right. all the years the vigilantes hid indoors. all the years the fear drove us to mental suicide. as one gets older, you see the same things repeat: hatred, love and yes, even control. yet we still breathe, still engage in coitus, still laugh still confuse ourselves and ask why the cat roams the street. the foolish never catch the ferris wheel rolling away. the smart know the sun will never dim. and even if it does, we'll all be long gone leaving behind confusion for those born after us. we live by the virus now and no one has seen the virus has already completed it's work. confusion... man's greatest weakness. we don't remember years, only moments. we are only competing against ourselves with no win available. in these moments of the virus, the world is using confusion to fight fear. too young to burn, they'll remember the year of the corona. too young to die, I'll remember the moment the world fought a fight that wasn't worth fighting. by: Chicano Eddie 3.13.20
