The Curse of Conquerors Past, Part Iii
...Not many people could unite such a force, it was Williamson who was the lynch-pin, if he could be killed they all would splinter, amongst the horde civil wars would begin. This, it appeared, was the best option left, even if it meant many more would perish, less would die than if the Khan kept going, his genocides I could not let persist. I called up a friend, a US Navy S.E.A.L., and an old contract I knew in Mossad, we all agreed to meet in Tel Aviv, to plot how to kill this dark living god. I won’t get into how we infiltrated, the fake uniforms, the killings and bribes… But we got close when he took Damascus, to a hotel where he held court inside. We waited until he went to a penthouse, most of his generals were drinking downstairs, we killed three guards and stole their outfits, the only was that we could sneak up there. At the top o the life we killed three more, used out training to do it silent-like, we crept our way to the big penthouse door, and arranged ourselves, all ready to strike. We kicked down the door, rushed into the room, I do not know what I expected to see, cups made of skulls, naked concubines, all the normal sorts of depravity. I did not expect the room to be stripped of everything but a table and chair, with some beer cans strewn all about the floor, and the Khan Williamson just sitting there. He was holding a beer, looked quite surprised, his eyes did not have a soldier’s hard edge, he looked like a man who had drank too much and just needed to quit, and go to bed. When he saw our faces he realized we were not horde, were not one of his ones. “You’re here to kill me,”he said with a sigh, “Well alright then, you’d better get it done.” There seemed great relief in the tyrant’s face, and it left the three of us taken aback, immediately we scanned the penthouse, all suspecting it was some sort of trap. He sighed again,”You don’t need to worry, they won’t be back for forty minutes yet, but by that time Temujin will return, so slaying me now would be your best bet.” This nonsense did not make us feel better, in fact none of this made any sense, a world conquered was asking to die, alone and drunk, beyond help from his men. And mumbling about some Temujin… was this monster also bloody insane? Khan Williamson saw out hesitation, said,”Ok then, real quickly I’ll explain… CONTINUES IN PART IV
