The wind is whispering as the snowflakes begin, like gauzy curtains of infinite white they spin; and in this winter storm, I am lost within- I raise my hands for the filigree flakes of lace . . . The snowflakes soft as a lover's kiss on my face, all through the forest the snow and trees embrace; a winter scene before me where all things interlace- Crystalline ice drips from branches like diamonds . . . I lay myself down to sleep in winter woodlands, dreaming, dreaming of trees with festive garlands; and colorful birds like Christmas balls are thousands- I gasp for breath in the frosty, frigid bitter air . . . It is time to leave this ice-kissed dream- oh tear, I do wish for a warm coat and not this gown threadbare; as now the snowflakes are falling, falling everywhere- In my dream I am wandering in the frozen snow . . . ________________________ December 4, 2017 (Re-post) Poetry/Rhyme/My Winter Dream Copyright Protected, ID 17-1216-354-0 All Rights Reserved.
