Jessica Died Today
Jessica died today, and the buddleja tree is sighing. The last yellow rose of autumn, is bowing its head and crying, for Jessica died today. No more walking the streets, up to your stomach in snow, greeting shoppers for treats who you got to know. Your garden was yours to protect, and you did in a beautiful way, now frogs and birds are all mourning, for Jessica died today. No more chasing balls in the park, beneath the spring cherry blooms, rolling on your back on the leaves; chasing the children’s balloons. Oh how the children loved her, when she joined with them in play, and now they must sadly be told, that Jessica died today. no more welcoming all callers; no more falling asleep by my bed; no more staring with pleading eyes; thankful for small scraps of bread. Jessica died today, and the buddleja tree is sighing. The last yellow rose of autumn, is bowing its head and crying, for Jessica died today.
