Sadie Scolds the Dragon
Curly headed Sadie warned the dragon bright Better stay away from here, especially tonight My daddy is on alert, that you gave me a fright. Now that I know you, I want you to be all right. The dragon was insistent, and liked Sadie so much. He kept flitting and flirting, just out of her touch. He asked to touch her bunny, and she said one little time. So he gently felt its bunny paw, and then he said it’s mine. Sadie snatched back her bunny and gave him what for fast. She told him he’d best get out of there, if he wanted to last. She told him her daddy wanted to shoot him in the head. If that happened, she warned him, he would be promptly dead. The dragon could not take the hint, due to the butterflies. He was their guardian, and had to watch them with his eyes. So he and Sadie made a pact, and kept it hard and good. They would be friends forever, and he’d do whatever he could. To guard not only the faeries, but Sadie, for she was a delight. He agreed because of her daddy’s temper, he would stay out of sight. They were forever friends, this dragon, and this little Sadie Honey. Never getting into it unless he touched her sacred brown stuffed bunny.
