An Unfortunate Day
Papa, you must come home early today, said the little girl, while the mother smiled. Yes, my dear, we will go together in the evening, answered the father and kissed her forehead and left for the day. Weeklong imaginations, desire for a new doll are meant to see reality on Saturday. Repeated look at wall clock and eagerness to be ready before father arrives is the only work remain for the little girl. Assurances of mother that papa will not forget does not bring peace in her little heart. Almost half the day the girl stood near the window, waiting for her father. Each doorbell made her curious to know arrival of her father. Before leaving from workplace the father spoke to his child, “You are the pearl of my heart”, Baby, we will bring that doll definitely to home. While returning home the father could visualize the smiling face of his daughter with the doll in her hand. On his way the fatal blast took place. Nothing could be done. In a moment chaos danced on the street . Full of smoke everywhere. Darkness all around. People rushed to escape. Many cried for help. Some ran for shelter elsewhere. Injured lying under the open sky, unable to move Dead bodies piled on the road. They will not protest for their untimely departure. The problems of life will never bother them again The father rushing to home to accompany his daughter could also not reach home. Despite darkness in his eyes, he could remember his daughter’s words, papa come home early today. Life goes on. Memories of people are short. They forget everything very fast. For such heinous acts only orphans do not get parental love. Only sisters do not tie the bands in brothers’ hands Only wives live with the memories of their spouses. Hope of parents for arrival of their children remains unfulfilled.
