Shattered
For months you said you would break me That was what you were trained to do. I laughed at your confidence, the wall to my heart was secure! We talked we teased we laughed, we enjoyed the company. We learned about each other, we filled a certain need! Was it all a game plan, just to prove your skills? To hear me say "I love you", then move in for the kill. Did I have to trust you, why did I have to care? Did I have to love you. With a heart, vowed not to share! I tried so hard to leave you, you would not let me go. You pulled me back with promises.. All lies. I did not know. You sent.. "Our Song" Hear the words, open your heart. let my love in. Let me take away your hurt, let the healing now begin! You ripped apart the barrier, came charging in my heart. All that's left are splinters now, you tore it all apart. You broke me, another war you've won. I wish I could hate you. the pain put out the sun! The barrier is back in place, made with bands of steel, Protecting a shattered heart, that never again shall feel.
