Last Year's Nest Included Grandma
Last year’s nest was cozy and warm with quilts and Grandma’s smile. Grandma is gone now. Grandpa’s spirit has left. His soul has disappeared. His new woman put grandma’s quilts away, and changed the house. A soulless creature who wants us to call her grandma. Ain’t gonna happen in this lifetime. Last year’s nest was full of beef and noodles and warm mashed potatoes. Last year’s nest was homemade apple cobbler, and caramel brownies. Filled with grandma’s happy laughter, and her gentle grandma arms. Now we have Las Vegas trinkets and photos of grandpa with this stranger. We despise her. She has eliminated all signs of grandma. Grandma with her loving heart, her soft ways, and her listening eyes. Grandma with her soulful faith, and her love for Jesus. The last time I was there I sneaked Grandma's Bible out of the house before the stranger could get rid of it too….
