Blacken Morsels; the Shadow Dines
An eerie shadow in the night; comes hither to your door; Each time you whisper save me please; it angers even more. It seems to know your name somehow; and it calls as if you’re owned; And the terror puts a fear in you; to the marrow of your bones. You see it at your windows; yet you hear it at your door; An icy chill comes over you; from your feet that touch the floor. Your instinct tells you break and run; but you’re frozen there in place; And you know it somehow sees you there; as it laughs all in your face. From a place you’ve never known; a piercing scream is heard; The sound is coming from your mouth; crying words that seem absurd. "That’s what I’ve been waiting for" (he says); as it grabs you from behind; As the water falls all to the floor; you know you’ve lost your mind. So now you know you’ve lost it; but are you going to die; How did this horror find you; and more so tell you why? Suddenly it’s over; and you’re staring at the lights; You’re calling it a nightmare; but you’re not sure that is right. The chill is all around you; but you think he went away; But the marrow in your bones still jells; and the fear is there to stay. Who says there isn’t evil; who says it wasn’t real; That’s the nature of its game; it eats what you conceal.
