Man At Arms Serving His King
With his lance in his sheath upon his mount Traveling to the Castles gate tired from battle His helmet tarnished and armor bloodied by war This one lone Knights only wish is, to see his lady Ridding through the Castles gates a page approaches him Squire, the King wishes your appearance Tired and tethered he kneels before his King Flags of his code of arms placed beside his King Sir. Charles please rise your bow before me is not needed I wish to honor you before all for your Gallantry in battle With his eyes weak and his body filled with scares My King, I ask not to be honored for I have done this for all Honor those who did not return whose families are now without As you wish Sir. Charles but tonight there shall be a feast You shall sit next to me beside my daughter and celebrate The King had his servants create attire with gold and ruby’s Then sent to Sir Charles dressed in glory he sat at the Kings table The Kings daughter with her eyes glowing was also dressed in gold With wine flowing like water and a bounty of food with music playing Sir. Charles, it would be my wish if were to dance with my daughter Without the fear of war this knight was shy and awkward toward his lady My King, I would die in battle for all but to dance I have no skill Laughing at this hero of war, Sir. Charles nor does my daughter Both rising as he takes her hand, may I dance with you my lady? After a time with wine filled bellies Sir Charles kneeled before her My lady looking up into her eyes, yes Sir Charles she replied My honor prevents me from placing you into my bed this night But, I wish to ask that we wed and you bare our child Sir Charles, no man have I seen with such honor not to bed me this night? I must present this to my King and ask to wed my lady My King may I approach and ask to wed My Kings daughter? Sir Charles you are but a squire how could I let you wed my daughter? With love of fire in his heart he replied, My King I will not honor your wish For my love for her I will fight this Kingdom and take her in flight I see where thy heart lays Sir Charles so your King will grant thy wish There will be a calibration like no other have ever seen in this honor Never before has a squire wed a Kings daughter but this love of two Created a new kingdom rule that a Knight in shinning armor May wed the Kings daughter for the love of two shall never be denied This Kings new golden rule for two
