Tv Perfection
My little cousin once said to me that she wished her life was on TV See she loves TV for a certain purpose Because she feels that her life is worthless Since birth her life has been a circus And TV’s to her the closest way of being perfect Since she’s been born her life’s been pain inflicted Never knew her father he’s always been missin Half her mother’s life she dealt with addiction But like TV Perfection, she wishes her life was fiction Looses herself in TV so that her life, she doesn’t worry about it Pass through family so she’s never been routed See a near perfect life to her but most would doubt it She’ll just move from house to house and TV’s her outlet She once told me, “You know how you love Poetry well I’ve been able To take my problems and make them stable by watching cable See how you look up to Langston and Maya I alone Only have Raven Somone cuz all my life I’ve been on my own” And as she explains on the phone she never complains at all She just sits on her bed and adjusts her head to the picture on the wall See her life aint no carol and her path has been narrow But TV’s is the thing that won’t let her fall She feels sometimes there no cause to live But in a negative world this little girl finds a way to stay positive See her life has been so distant from perfect, don’t forget That some times she even wishes her life was a Script Therefore avoiding the problems that has ruined her life And we all know movies have a happy ending and that’s one she would like But instead she put in position where she constantly fights And all she says is “one day everything will be right” But until then all she has is her television Screen and a hopeless dream That her life could be TV Perfection
