Fires of Deprivation
When the peace officers arrived to the tinderbox scene at SWAT speed, the warpath fireflies had lit the summer night with bottles of gasoline So much bottled-up frustration was long last now released Dark plumes of prescient smoke arose in the raging fires of deprivation Concerned conservative commentators said, “Worry not,” to the frightened viewers with pale hearts “The blue tide will prevail” The valium voices reassured the couched masses, as before: Telling them subliminally, a peaceful wave of bullets will bring commercial calm once more Unchanneled aggression will be fetter restored The mellow media pitch tone urged the patently amnesia-prone sleepers to buy quickly the “new-and-improved” docile byproducts of society Courtesy of sponsors that sell suppressed tranquility When the peace officers departed the smouldering scene at funeral hearst led speed, the mourning fireflies had flickered out in the dawn light As the darkness of oppression started ignore settling And the embers of anger, so stillborn fiery, be laying airwave dormant in the poverty ashes of anguish neverending Waiting for a lacking weep remedy to spark a righteous burning But raze justice doused never truly brought about an equitable beginning
