Distant Shores
Tell me your secrets, tell me your lies. Don't bore me by saying you have none. It is time that we both realize, that we should accept the things that we've done. Times we have hidden within the dark of night. Convincing ourselves that no one sees. Things that are wrong, we believe they are right. Telling lies, we did with such ease. It has been a difficult journey, , down this long road that I chose. The climate has been stormy. Creating far to many shadows. We stand facing each other. What do I see, when I look at you? The man who was once my lover. For a moment, then I bid you adieu. I was too restless to stay, but too complacent to go very far. I was determined to find my own way. Romanticizing that I would follow a star. I followed what turned out to be falling star. I should have known how it would end. For me, things are what they are. It would be a waste of time to pretend. Tonight I have told you my secrets. Another time, perhaps for sharing yours. Moods change, and the will retreats. Once again I go looking for distant shores.
